Barely three days after DP Ruto left the coastal region. President Uhuru is visiting the same region.
His meeting was abrupt planned tour and he is set to visit the larger Lamu county. Here the president is scheduled to launch and commission several development projects with an aim of helping the residents of the region.
This visit has been seen as a move to counter the popularity of the deputy president who received a warm welcome in kilifi and coastal region.
The president is expected to measure the depth of how his development narrative is being spread.
Uhuru is expected to launch several boreholes which has been made. In an abrupt as forces in the security volatile regions which border the Witu and Boni forests.
The fast move is also meant to disrupt the agendas put of ground by Ruto who seem to be taking the entire country by a storm in a bid meant to cement his political career and as a willing candidate for the 2022 general elections.
The president is also set to have a meeting with the region Leaders and who are affiliated to both Jubilee And ODM. Raila Odinga is also expected to be in the region to meet the president and the learders. The move by the president and his deputy is meant to weigh the regions strength, given that it has a high number of voters who are likely to change the presidential vote which is of great importance come next year.
