Kikuyu vernacular musician Lawrence Njuguna, popularly known as DJ Fatxo, has finally spoken out since the completion of the probe into interior designer Jeff Mwathi’s death at his house.

The Mugithi artist made a comeback on social media with a long, deep post on Tuesday in celebration of his birthday as he turned 27.

While quoting a Psalms Bible verse, DJ Fatxo expressed jubilation at turning a year older, stating that the past year of his life hasn’t exactly been the kindest to him.

He however expressed gratitude for being able to survive it all, further intimating that he has learnt a lot about life in the process.

“I’m delighted to celebrate another year of my life. Happy Birthday to me! Thanks a lot, God for giving me another year of life. 27 please be kind juu this past year will always be pensive,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Nimepitia mengi just like Gold which must go through furnace but the most wonderful truth is, I’m not getting old, I’m just becoming experienced. I am grateful for surviving all the challenges throughout the last 365 days and turning a year older.”

He added: “Always do good to others it will come back to you in unexpected ways and pray for protection because there’s a lot we can’t see.”

DJ Fatxo became a subject of scrutiny online after 23-year-old Mwathi died after allegedly falling from the musician’s apartment in Kasarani.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) however recently said their probe into Mwathi’s death was completed, and that they had since forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for “perusal and advice.”
