Popular upcoming Kikuyu gospel musician Dennis Njuguna is trending for wrong and embarrassing reasons.

Njuguna, also known as Shokora wa Nairobi(Street Kid of Nairobi), is being accused of lying about his mothers death in a plot to get money from his friends and fans.

The gospel musician is also accused of allegedly stealing about half a million that had been contributed to buy a plot to build a home for street children.

Njuguna, who claims to be a former street kid, has been running a foundation with other well wishers and they have been fund raising for a home to rehabilitate ‘chokoraas’.

In a series of messages she sent to Kameme FM presenter and comedian Muthee Kiengei, a lady identified as Mercy said she has all receipts of the money they collected through their foundation that Njuguna has allegedly ‘eaten’.

They had even located a plot and drafted an agreement with the seller but the musician, knowing very well he had misappropriated the money, refused to complete the transaction on pretext it had no valid title deed.

Just last week, the artist behind ‘Cokora Cia Nairobi’ hit went to an unknown grave and took photos which he uploaded on Facebook claiming his mother had died.

He went ahead to create a moving story about how he had been left with six kids to take care of and asked his fellow musicians and fans to support him in looking after them.
