Manchester United fans have gotten their own back on social media today following Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Manchester United supporters have had to go through a lot since last Sunday when Erik ten Hag’s team crumbled at Anfield as they shipped seven goals to the Merseyside club.

Reaction from both camps after the result was one of shock however, Liverpool supporters and pundits took great delight in teasing the Reds’ fans.

Chief among the tormentors was Jamie Carragher.

During his media duties on CBS Sport for the Champions League, Carragher proceeded to drink from a can of 7Up while dropping ‘seven’ puns into his conversation with exUnitedkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

However, the Scouser has been notably absent on social media after today’s result for his beloved team on the south coast.

Mo Salah had the opportunity to equalize for the visitors in the second half after Liverpool was awarded a penalty for handball.

However, Salah’s penalty went high and wide as the Premier League strugglers held on for a vital victory. After Carragher’s shenanigans this week, many fans opted to mock his comments and actions on Twitter.

Some supporters suggested that Gary Neville should drink a can of Cherry Coke during tomorrow’s Super Sunday while others made their own references to 7Up and Salah’s penalty.
